May Twitch analysis

Posted Jun 15, 2018

Streaming is a direct impersonation of the Internet with its chaotic instability. Nevertheless, there are rare oases of tranquility and stability. May was quite stable — there were no really radical changes compared to the previous month.

Fortnite, League of Legends and PUBG formed the strong three of the most popular streaming disciplines of Twitch - which for a month in a row their positions are unbreakable. Slightly changing the number of viewers on average, but in the feat of large e-sports at Fortnite, the Royal Battle of Epic Games can further break away from competitors.

Fortnite, League of Legends and PUBG formed the strong trio of the most popular streaming disciplines on Twitch. Three months in a row their positions are unbreakable. Even amount of viewers do not change much, but we believe when Fortnite will open their esports division it will receive much more viewers compared to nowadays statistics. Fortnite can become even more popular.

Hearthstone lost some viewers last month — it is not surprising since the latest expansion released long time ago and many players lost their passion to the game. The situation is going to change with the release of the new expansion — many players will come back.

The IRL section of Twitch is becoming more and more relevant. Traditionally Twitch is primarily a gaming streaming service, but this era is going to end soon. Social, musician streams, talk shows become more and more popular with each month. There will be a day when IRL will become a trend and overtake the top of Twitch.

Football is the most popular sport in the world so FIFA has an extremely huge base of potential fans throughout the word. FIFA 18 released long time ago so it lost a lot of viewers as novelty value fade away. Esports saved the situation — there were a lot of large championships in May like FIFA 18 Global Series Playoff 2018.

Conan Exiles, Detroit: Become Humans and Dark Souls: Remastered released in May thus attracted the gamer’s attention. Developers of Destiny 2 and Dead by Daylight released a new in-game content in May thus they returned players back to their game and back to Twitch.
